Know About Goddess Saraswati- 

Goddess Saraswati is revered as the epitome of wisdom, knowledge, and the arts throughout the world. A special festival of Basant Panchami that appears in the month of Magh (January- February) is dedicated to her and worshipping her during this festival ensures the blessings of wisdom and creativity. She is known by different names like the Shwetapadma, Vagdevi, and Surasa, and is honored to gain command over various arts and knowledge forms. Her image is synonymous with excellence in education and hence her images or statues are often found in schools and colleges in India. 

 

Types of Goddess Saraswati Statues- 

Goddess Saraswati has been depicted in a variety of ways, all with the same enthusiasm. One of the most popular statues of the Goddess depicts her with four hands and sitting on a lotus. This is the chaturbhuj form of the Goddess where she holds the Veena with her two lower hands and her other two hands hold the Japamal (rosary) and Vedas (sacred texts). Another very significant depiction of her is in a standing posture wearing a pristine white attire and blessing her devotees in the Abhaya Mudra. Different materials like wood, stone, brass, bronze, and copper are used to create magnificent statues of the Goddess that hold spiritual and religious significance as well as are considered to be outstanding pieces of art.
